How long does meat last in freezer??

I just took out some ground turkey that has been in the freezer since May. Is it safe to eat? Just how long does meat last in the freezer anyway?

Thanks!

It's good.

Meat doesn't really go "bad" in the freezer, but it can get freezer-burned and icky tasting.

If it's properly packaged (think vacuum sealed) it can last a year or more.

Years if packaged correctly. At least 2. We just ate a turkey that I bought 2 years ago and it was moist and delicious. It was stored in our meat locker at the processing plant, where they keep the freezer conditions perfect. We buy our meat by the side and some cuts will take us 1+ years to eat. We keep most of it in our upright freezers in the basement.
