warm Socks

Where do you find those? I have checked out the local consignment and thrift stores plus some chains (target walmart) and all I find are socks for infants or children.

My little boy has big feet - size 6 at 11 month. I was hoping to find some cozy, warm socks with anti-slip dots, but all sizes 18-24months are sold out?

Any tips for online sock buying in that size? Somehow I am not successfull in finding what I am hoping to find.

I have had the same problem, last year and this year (DS is now 22 mos, wearing size 8ww shoes, and needs size "3-4yo" socks!)

What I did was buy some toddler socks at StrideRite without the grabby stuff on the bottoms, and some white fabric paint at JoAnns, and "striped" the bottoms of the socks with fabric paint. After a while they aren't grabby any more, but he;s outgrown them so it doesn't matter as much.

I can't find the size he needs now, so I'm probably going to have to suck it up and buy some at Hanna Anderson, since they DO have what I'm looking for. They also have these GREAT slipper socks that take forever to wear out -- we used those over cotton socks all fall/winter/spring and they work great. Just 2 pairs so when 1 needs washing you have another. They take a while to dry (I put them in front of the dehumidifier in the basement which helps). They're expensive but definitely worth it -- they last long enough to use on more than one kid.

Hanna also sells some wool blend socks for toddlers that are worth getting a couple-three pairs of, for the really cold days or for playing in snow.

We all wear smart wool socks year round around here. They don't have grippies on the bottom but my DD gets around in them just fine without slipping. We don't wear shoes inside. Nice and cozy!

These are amazing socks. We only have a couple pair from when they were on sale (and even then I balked at the clearance price!) but they stay on the kids feet really well and still look pretty new.

These Hannah Andersson socks are expensive. Wow!

I like the idea with the fabric paint!

DS loves his Smart Wool socks. They are pricey but very warm and durable.

Smartwool here too.

I always see those kind at the Dollar Tree -- I've never bought them so I don't know how good they are but at least it would be cheap to test out!

I've been happy with tinysoles.com, sometimes the wool socks go on sale there. Though I forget the brand.
