Diaper suggestion for chubby 6 mo?

I converted to FBs when my son was around 1 month. I have both one-size and medium ones. They have been great but they are starting to get tight. I am surprised coz the one-size is supposed to go till toddlerhood?? My son is definitely chubby. He is 21lb at 6 mo, and chunky thighs, buddha belly.

I love snaps(no velcro please), prefer pocket diapers over AIO(BumGenius never dried in my dryer) and cost is not an issue.

Any suggestions please? Should I try FB large? Anyone using Fuzzibunz large size?

Thanks Mamas

I have one size bumgenius. I too had a super chubby baby. 95th percentile. I too was surprised that the one sized diapers already appeared to be almost too small on him when I started him in cloth around 8 months. However, as he got older, he leaned out, and the diapers started fitting better. Anyway, I wouldn't necessarily give up on the one sized, because they may start fitting better eventually. But you could try prefolds in a large size cover. Good luck!

Take this advice for what it's worth, since I don't have any babies yet, let alone chubby ones :P

However, I came across this post yesterday on Rumparooz's Facebook page featuring a 26lb, 8 month old baby. Apparently Rumparooz fit great for him:

I've also heard that Preston's Pants are great for bigger babies:

in my experience RR run kinda small.. You might want to look into the tiny tush elite those have a higher weight range than most.. The BG 4.0s are sosposed to be a higher rise from my understanding... Consider the flip as well..

I too have a chunky monkey :-) and I've been really happy with the econappi and thirsties. If cost isn't an issue I would do econappi, I like the bamboo against babies skin and the insert is bamboo too, super absorbent! They come in snaps. My absolute favorite has been bottombumpers though.

We use FBs and love them, so I'm gonna advocate them shamelessly. My DD was a chunker too and has started thinning out now that she's crawling around and cruising. So like PP said, I wouldn't give up the OS just yet. However, you might want to try some of the Larges in the meantime to see if they work. They're supposed to fit babies from 25 - 45lbs, so your little guy would definitely have room to grow into them for a long time to come. And if he does start slimming down and you find that the Larges are just too big down the road, you can always sell them and invest in a few more Mediums.
