Gifts

How does limited exposure to the media impact the gifts that your kids ask for when it comes to birthdays and holidays?

Our kids don't really ask for anything. How do you come up with ideas?

I'm not complaining, but sometimes it feels weird to be buying what I want the kids to have rather than what they ask for. They love the gifts they get, but I still wonder about the situation.

My 4 almost 5 year old looks at the ads in the Sunday paper. Most of the time he has no idea who the "TV people" are. But many times he will see something that looks good to him. He was looking a boardgame that he wants for his b-day.

DS doesn't really ask for things much. Don't get me wrong, he still loves getting presents But he doesn't have a lot of specific requests. In trying to think back over any actual requests I do recall him saying he wanted a digger type truck. he asked for tempera paints once and last christmas said he wanted some toy fruit and an umbrella. lol.
