There has to be a better way

DS is almost a year (Tomorrow!!) I don't want to wean. I am currently pregnant and would love to tandem.

However, lately sometimes it just gets to be way WAY too much sensation. I seriously had to stop myself from reflexively tossing his away from me. It only happens after he's been nursing for a while or too frequently.

I've been trying to limit how long, give him warnings, tel him its closed. But he cries like it is the absolute end of his world .

Is there a better way? Part of me feels like if I weaned him all together then I wouldn't have to hurt him so. I don't know what to do it breaks my heart. But I cannot keep nursing/bear through it. Ironically the 1st trimester was totally fine. ETA: I mean after the sensation is too much.

Also, eating is fine because the suck is different its the comfort nursing/ playing that kills me.

Ugh! I've sooooooo btdt and I know how much it hurts. I'm assuming that you're already on a don't-offer-don't-refuse regimen? What sorts of distractions have you tried? If you're feeling desperate, could you put on a brief DVD to turn his head away from your breast for a bit? (Gasp! Look honey! It's Elmo!!) Sorry. I don't miss going through that at all!
