How long did you have after pains?

Day 14 and and they're still intense enough to stop me dead in my tracks. I had all but quit bleeding and Sunday/Monday had a total set back. Now I'm bleeding a lot (like a heavy period and passing 1/2 dollar and quarter size clots) and having some horrific cramps. Any suggestions other than ibuprofen and the occasional lortab? I've been taking it easy (I promise!) Friday was busy, but I didn't start having trouble til Sunday. Saturday I was fine. Tuesday was another easy no/low blood or pain day and today it picked up again. I'm feeling very frusterated.

Drinking a lot of water has made bleeding worse. Important to keep bladder empty.

I might be tempted to get checked out, though, were I you.

With dd i couldn't move around much for a few weeks after her birth at least not comfortably. This time I was up and around the next day.. I feel like I didn't have the after pains at all.. not sure what the difference is other than drinking a ton of water this time instead of being dehydrated alot like i was with dd.

Four days. Midwife said they'd be gone after three days. At 14 days I would contact my care provider.

I would go get checked. 4-5 days for me but they were slowing in frequency and only had a couple on day 5

They were all but gone til last weekend. I'll schedule an appt. I broke down and took a lortab this morning and I'm really trying not to. Lila is a sleepy baby and I'm sure that's not helping things.

A few days, maybe? The way you are describing the bleeding increasing maybe it is something else other than afterpains (not sure what)? I agree I would call your doctor/midwife. Hope you start feeling better soon, it is really tough to be in so much pain for so long and trying to take care of a new baby. s
