thoughts on K12??

I know there are alot of k12 mamas out here.. and I need some thoughts. DS is 5 and currently enrolled in a charter here in California.
It is going...alright. I know I shouldn't be worried too much about how much he is learning yet, but I am, constantly. I am obsessed with searching online for curriculums, ideas, etc etc, and it is nice, because I do get alot of it purchased for DS through the charter school, but I find I am constantly changing my mind, finding new stuff, going crazy with all of the information out there!!!
Im sure some of you can relate.
One thing I am sure of...I definitely want a more classical/traditional/charlotte mason style approach. I kinda like K12s curriculum style, and the thought of having everything streamlined, and thought out for me is sooooo.....refreshing...
But...on the other hand, I do like being able to pick and choose, I am literally driving myself bonkers planning, researching, gathering info, etc etc...

I am so tempted to sign up with k12 in my state, which is also free...thoughts?????

Oy. I don't have alot of time right now, but there are lots of threads around with my similar issues with k12. wava is the public entity of k12 in wa state. I ended up doing hours of administration on the computer. The science/history was BORING. The reading skills/phonics language arts were behind what we knew, and I spent SO much time trying to weed through what we need to do, what we don't, how to have the "proof" that we schooled "enough" etc. I was concerned about having everything lumped together also, but turns out I really wasn't missing anything. DS is 1st grade and he hated school after loving all of kinder at home, and it took a little while after we withdrew from the program for his attitude to change.

It hink it CAN work. But if my feeling is if I have to spend that much time weeding through the curriculum, I might as well do it ALL on my own....which turns out to get easier as time goes on. I could see an independent older student using the k12 with success.
