i'm HUGE

i'm 25w today, and i'm measuring 31w.

a certain amount of that might be the fact that i'm overweight.. the belly flab adding a cm or two to the measurement.

DD1 was a big kid. she just made it to 37w and she was 7lb11oz. this one's head measured a week ahead some time ago already.. the u/s tech thought our dates were off (they're not.. charting, opks, early u/s all agree on dates). so maybe i just produce big kids.

and DD1 also had a "generous" amount of amniotic fluid.. maybe this is happening again. but at what point does it become a problem??

i hope it doesn't mean something's wrong. i mean i knew i was huge, but she said that number and i choked. boy, this pregnancy has been "interesting"!

That's a pretty big discrepency. Did they check your fluid level?

At my midwife appt. this week I measured 5 weeks ahead. It freaked me out because they couldn't find the heartbeat for the longest time (I have already had two losses before this) but they were looking too low. The midwife asked me about fibroids (but I had a 5 week u/s that was pretty extensive due to my high risk of having another ectopic, nothing was noticed). I looked up and some other explanations are placenta previa, polyhydramnios, GD with huge baby, or just having a stretched out uterus from your first pregnancy. My DD was 9lb8.5oz with mild poly (AFI = 25) and so I worry about GD and poly, and I have a prior cesarean so I worry about previa. But not much I can do about that, so until I get my anatomy scan I am going to assume it is a stretched out uterus.

oh yes, i do have fibroids.. i guess if they're growing it can affect things eh? i also have a big dermoid tumour on my ovary. i notice katie's always on the right side of my uterus, and the fibroids are on the left.

i'm going to be going to appointments more frequently and they've put in a request for ultrasound already. that should (hopefully) give me some answers about the fibroids and whatnot.. will it give enough info about amniotic fluid you think?

Last pregnancy I started measuring ahead around that time and by 30 weeks I was measuring at over 40. I did have an ultrasound done to check on things and I had lots of extra fluid. Everything was fine, I was just gigantic...

I'm another person measuring big, usually 4 or 5 weeks. In my case it is definitely fibroids, not helped by the fact that I'm short-waisted and apple shaped. I'm also 25 wks and I've had a couple ultrasounds. They were able to tell me that my fluid levels are normal and the babe is actually on the small side, so while I am having a cascade of possible complications with this pregnancy, according to both my midwives and doc measuring big in itself isn't a problem.

I measured 41 weeks at my 34 week appt. Midwife sent me for an ultrasound, fluid levels are good, baby is big but not scary big. It is just the way I am
