plugged duct?

Is it possible to have a plugged duct and not know it? I have been have some shooting type pains on and off on the left side, but I didn't notice anything else. DS ate from that side this morning. I'm at work now and was just pumping for 5 minutes per side. On the right I got my usual 3 oz. On the left I didn't even get 20 ml. Could this be a plugged duct or something else or just one of those things?

You can't feel a lump at all? Is there any redness?

I would take some Soy Lecithin just in case, and try a warm compress prior to your next pumping/nursing session.

I would just keep trying to put your babe on that side first for every nursing for a while. But make sure to keep putting him on the other side too (so you don't create a problem in that breast). I had a lot of plugged ducts and mastitis to deal with in the first several months of my ds's life. I'd say generally speaking, a plugged duct hurst like the dickens and you can feel a hard mass or lump. But if you're not sure, it'd be good to stave it off if you can.

Sorry, had a rough couple of days here (from work, not ds). The next pumping was fine and normal. No lump, no redness. The pain has lessened considerably - I only feel it once or twice a day? But I'll do some preventative measures just in case, thanks!
