When should I worry? (SHOULD I worry??)

My 6-month old doesn't roll over in either direction. She is great at sitting up, holding and manipulating toys, and standing/walking with someone holding her hands. But if you stick her on her back, she stays on her back and kicks happily. And if you put her on her belly, she still just wriggles and gets frustrated. Should I be concerned that she hasn't figured out how to do this yet, or is she just showing a preference for being upright and that's that?

my dd2 was not a roller. i think by 6m she had rolled over a couple of times, but i can't even remember which way, but it was only one way at that. at just 8m she took off crawling. now at almost 9m not a lot of rolling any more. basically to get from back to belly. once she's on her belly she just gets into a sitting position and starts crawling. never rolls from belly to back any more.

she also hated tummy time.

so i wouldn't worry.

Nope, I dont think you should worry. Some just havent figured it out at 6 months.

My older DD rolled maybe once or twice.

She didn't just have any interest in doing it. She crawled at 10 mo and walked at 13 and now she likes to swing as high as she can and catapult off the swing.

I wouldn't worry. DD did not really like to roll and our nephew never rolled (he is now 4 and fine). He acutally never crawled either and still finds it a bit hard, LOL

ds just turned 6 months on October 5th and also isn't big on movin' around...he has on occasion rolled over to his tummy (I haven't been witness to this but found him turned in his crib) but I pretty much haven't seen it at all. He doesn't enjoy tummy time at all but also loves to be in standing position and sits with assistance...not really liking laying down or reclined at all these days! I have worried over this plenty and the lovely ladies of MDC have assured me its fine!

I've known babies who never rolled over. They all crawled and walked just fine, so I really wouldn't worry unless she stops hitting other milestones.

At our 4 month WBV, the dr asked if DS was rolling. I said no and the doctor said that was fine, but that we would worry if he wasn't rolling by 6 months. At the 6 month visit, I said that he had rolled over a couple of times but not regularly. That was enough for the doctor to check it off her list and we moved on.

Fast forward 6 weeks and DS is now almost 8 months old. He hasn't rolled over at all since that original handful of times. It's definitely on my list of things to ask about at our 9 month WBV, but I'm not concerned enough to call in the meantime.

My los were not early with head lifting or rolling over, but it was never delayed enough for my dr to be concerned at wbvs. I guess I wouldn't worry about that at 6 months...that seems early to be concerned. Some babies just aren't that interested in rolling over, ya know?

2 more anti-rollers here. They were much more content on sitting up then trying to roll around.

DS never rolled as an infant but now that he's more mobile, he'll roll around as a game. I don't think I ever worried about the non-rolling because he could move well in other ways. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

A friend of mine had a daughter who didn't roll over until she was about 9 months old. She's perfectly fine ... just wasn't interesting in rolling was all.
