my upper teeth were throbby/hurting yesterday and I'm perceiving the feeling as numb today, as well as a numb-ish feeling in my lips.

I've been brushing w/ baking soda for a few months now, and have heard that's not great for your enamel... could that be a factor?

also, I've got a cold sore on my lip/chin since Sunday, which I do tend to feel in my whole body. My head hurts, throat doesn't feel great... I think my immune system is sort of just taking a hit right now - bad sleep recently and not super diet -and wonder if the teeth thing is related to a sinus problem? I've never had a "sinus infection" that I've known of, but do get headaches when my sinuses are full and the barometric pressure is low (or is it high?!). anyway, curious if others have had numb teeth before!
