Newborn Diaper Question

Hey, mamas. I'm looking for your advice on a newborn diaper question.

I have a bunch of prefolds and covers that *should* work with a newborn. The PFs are the infant size (forget the dimensions), and the covers are:

2 Prorap NB (6-10lb)
2 Thirsties Duo Size 1 (6-18lb)
2 Thirsties Small (12-18lb—okay, so this one isn't for a NEW newborn)

I also have some Blueberry and Happy Heinys OS covers, and 2 BG 3.0 OS pockets, but I don't expect any of those to really work until 10+ lbs.

This is my first, so I have no idea what size kid I make (though I suspect it will be small-ish, in the 7lb range.

So, my question ..... I won a $15 gift card for http://www.kanga-care.com/ --should I invest in a Lil' Joey 2-pack (4-12lb) for $30, OR should I put it towards a Rumparooz OS (they say it starts at 6lbs).

Thoughts? I'm definitely interested in hearing your actual experiences with these diapers. Even if the LJs will only fit for a short while, would I be better off going for something that will give a good snug fit? Or should I go for the longer lasting diaper that might be slightly big in the beginning?

TIA!

I have a friend who put her little in the Rumparooz as soon as her cord fell off. On the smallest rise, she's too big for the smallest waist setting. The diaper looks bulky, but it fits. And i'll say i'm a total Rumparooz convert. Absolutely love them!! We exclusively used fitteds and pfs until about 11 mos when we were dealing w yeast. But i'm just in love w my RR now!!

I agree with pp- I'd go with a one size, you have prefolds for the nb days!

Thanks, ladies! I went with the Rumparooz. Can't wait to try it out!
