I took my daughter to the ped yesterday because she's had a red bump on her face for nearly two weeks. DH really wanted me to take her. I thought it was a mosquito bite. It hasn't bothered her (i.e. no itching except for a few times this week). The doctor says it's molluscum contagiosum and says she likely got it at Disney World
Anyway, she told me it can take 6 to 12 months to go away and gave me an RX for an antibiotic cream. She also gave me a referral for a dermatologist because, as she said, we don't want it to spread and he may want to give her a treatment for it. The treatment she described is experimental and I won't be offering my DD up as a guinea pig for a doctor.
Anyway, does anyone know of any natural products I can use if it is what she says it is? My dermatologist who I've seen for years and trust told me he'd take a quick look at it (I would trust his quick look more than I would trust another derm who I've never been to take a longer look) with no charge. He doesn't accept our insurance and is extremely expensive but thorough.
Has anyone had any experience with this? I think it's a mosquito bite but I'd like to be sure. Any advice, direction, etc. is really appreciated. Thanks.
