My foster son is not circ'd. My boys are olde.r Is there anything new that I need to know?? Educate (or re-educate in this case)me please

If he is still in diapers, then wipe the outside when it has poopy on it. Other wise just leave it alone.

Do not attempt to retract it, do not let any medical people try to retract it.

If it looks a little red at the tip don't freak out - it happens sometimes. I find that I just need to make sure DS is drinking enough water and then it's normal again.

The proper way to care for the intact penis is
1) wipe it like a finger from base to tip, in the bath just give a simple swish in the water then make sure to rinse it off with clean water if the water he was in is soapy.
2) never push it back (retract) and never allow any one else to do so.

When he is older and starts to retract he should retract, rinse with clean water & replace.

Retraction can happen at any time from birth to adulthood with 10.5y being the avg age. Dont let anyone tell you something is wrong with him if he dosnt retract at X age. It is really hard to find an intact knowledgeable dr. still here in the USA.
