liquid calcium/magnesium for afterpains?

I've read that this can help with afterpains. Has anyone tried it? I tried a couple of natural remedies for afterpains with my 2nd and then just took ibuprofen when they didn't work. I'd prefer something natural (don't want to try the Afterease for a few reasons) but if it's not likely to work I'll just use the ibuprofen again.

Although I HATE to take any meds, ever, I've had great success by taking a Motrin right after the birth (before the afterpains start), and taking AfterEase tincture regularly following. Maybe there's a similar tincture by another company you can use? Or herbs in capsules?

Belly binding also helps tremendously. I didn't even need another Motrin after the first one that I took!

Yes, absolutely (bolded part).

I'm not familiar with the AfterEase (I'm German). I kept on drinking my pregnancy tea (uterine tonic) which helped some.

For me, staying warm (woolen undershirt, cherry pit sack / warming flask) seemed to make a lot of a differene (comined with belly binding / "supportive" underwear.

Finally, IMO it's a good thing to remember that these pains are there for a reason. With my last child it always got worse when I had done "too much too early". So use those pain medications wisely - don't kill the pain and act as if everything was "just fine". (I hope this didn't sound like some patronizing piece of advice. I'm not telling you not to take pain medications and "just pull yourself together", I'm trying to remind you that things will take time to heal even if you don't feel the pain anymore. )
