Hemp inserts?

Has anybody made hemp inserts? I want to make some for my fuzzibunz i hopes that its less bulky than double stuffing with microfiber insers.

How many layers of hemp/cotton did you use? I was thinking I'd just use my microfiber insert as a pattern and sew the layers together around the edges?

How many inserts do you think a yard would make? Also what type of thread would I need to use? Would a poly/cotton work?

I made some hemp doublers that were similar to a loopy-do. I don't think though that they are any less bulky than 2 mf inserts. I'd say the volume they can absorb is prob much greater. Tracing around your mf inserts is a good idea-worked for me! Poly/cotton thread will be fine. I'm not sure how many inserts you'll be able to get from a yard.

A yard of fabric is about 54 wide, and then 36 long. It will shrink maybe 10 percent. So figure 50x30 to be safe. You should get 4 cuts x 10. So depending on the number of layers per insert you use will decide how many you get from a yard. I wouldn't go more than 3 layers, then it gets hard to dry.
