Waking because of Cold Feet...

My 17mo ds doesn't want anything on his feet at night, but then wakes more because he gets a little chilly, especially cold feet. He uses me (nursing and cuddling) to get warmed up but then rolls away from me so that he soon has cold feet all over again.

Here is what I've tried:
Warm Sleeper with footies: If I put him in a sleeper he won't go to sleep (he is too busy trying to get out of it),
Socks: He takes socks off as soon as I put them on.
Blanket: I try to sneak a blanket on him when he is in a deep sleep, but he soon wakes up and kicks it off.
Warm temp: The heat is turned up to 73 degrees which is almost too hot for most of the night, but by early morning hours we start getting more chilly for some reason and that is when his feet get cold.

Anybody have ideas? I'm wondering, do they sell night-gowns for boys? Or is there something like a sleep sack only a completely open bottom? I wonder if he'd put up with that.... Maybe I need to just get him used to blankets somehow?
Thanks!

I would wait until he falls fast asleep and then put socks on him. My ds won't have anything to do with blankets either - and no matter what I do he just won't have it. He doesn't wake up though, just kicks them off

Maybe some kind of slippers or shoes over the socks...you might even be able to remove them after he falls asleep and just leave the socks on.

Does he sleep deeply enough later that you can share your blanket or put a blanket on him when it starts feeling cool...like 4am? My babes have always been blanket-kickers too, but I can often get one on their feet (not all the way up their body) in the early morning hours.
