I have 3 young kids and am 12 weeks pregnant with our fourth. I'm still nursing our 2-year-old a few times a day but am beginning to get ready to wean, mostly to try to make my life simpler when the fourth is born.
I say "beginning to get ready" because I'm sad at the thought of our nursing relationship being completely over, but at the same time, there are some things I'd like to do before the new baby comes that I don't feel I can while I'm still nursing -- namely, taking a day and night or two away.
I'm pretty much maxed out with parenting in general right now, and my husband is totally supportive of my going away for a weekend or even a whole week, just to get some rest and personal time. But I'm stopped by the worry that going away for a couple of nights will effectively wean our 2-year-old.
I know someone here must have been through something similar.
Would two nights away make a 2-year-old forget how to nurse?
Thanks in advance ladies.

I say go for it. If you're worried just don't leave for more than a couple of days.
