I've nursed 4 kids. My oldest, now 8, nursed for 2 yrs 8months. He tandem nursed with his sister for 8months. My second, nursed for 19months and weaned herself. My third, now 4, nursed for 3yrs and 6months and she tandem nursed with her brother for 2yrs and 6months. My youngest, now 3yrs 8months just weaned himself
All my kids have self weaned, and I'm so happy for them and for me
I've enjoyed nursing- but I'm SOOO happy to be done! Happy to be finished in such a positive way, because they are happy- healthy- and wonderfull all because of Nursing
I am Proud of myself. I very rarely ever toot my own horn, or complain about my life/health/situation. I am going to brag
I have nursed for 8 + straight years through a painfull back injury, over seperated hips due to pregnancy (pubic sympsis disorder) (sp). I've tandem nursed 2 times. I've nursed through a fractured femur bone, surgery and recovery to fix my hip fracture. I've been diagnosed with Severe Osteoporosis with my last baby and have (possibly) a genetic disorder, Osteogenesis Imperfecta or OI, commonly known as Brittle Bone Disease. I've faced down Doctor's, Nurses, Neighbor's, Family Members and the General Public and their ignorance regarding the positive of Breastfeeding
I nursed a High Needs Baby! We've moved 9 times in my Nursing Career and through it all the #1 constant was the comfort and superior health boost that Breastfeeding provided. I'm not trying to boast, or to garner sympathy- just to re-count what my Nursing Life has been like. I'm so proud of what I've nursed through, and the awesome effects that breastfeeding has had on my children.
I'm also so very gratefull for my adoring and awesome husband. My husband has been supportive of my nursing ability and relationship since our oldest was 3 weeks old. He read The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding cover to cover and became a HUGE BFing supporter. He's backed me up constantly and has never implied that he was upset that we Child Lead Weaned all the kids. My husband is Fabulous, and I'm so lucky that he's not only my husband but my #1 supporter. He's so proud of me, and he's happy to have "his" boobies back lol

Now that Breastfeeding is no longer a part of my daily life, I'm excited for the next phases of Motherhood
I'm also amazed at how little my boobies are
I didn't realize how nursing had increased my bust size after all those years. I've also lost 34lbs since my LO weaned! My body is smaller and softer, but in a good way!
If you've read all this, thanks!
