tylenol question

Regarding baby tylenol- is it actually different than giving the same milligram dosage of regular tylenol? If I see that 1/4 a 500 mg tylenol tab means a 125 milligram dosage, is this different than giving the same mg dosage of the baby tylenol? or a smaller dosage from less than a 1/4 tab, etc.
Is the baby tylenol simply the tylenol mixed up with sweet liquid, or is it inherently different?
I understand that it is designed to give the proper dosage to the baby, which is very important. But for someone who was aware of these details and was able to give the same dosage (based on a doctors chart of appropriate dosage for weight) of reg tylenol, is it any different?

Isn't baby tylenol a pretty recent thing?

and if baby tylenol is better, is it ok to use reg tylenol as described in a pinch (if you don't have the other stuff on hand and need it!)
I have no problem getting baby tylenol except I read (on the internet so I am not sure if this was accurate) that some baby tylenol was on recall? and also I don't know what else is in it.just wondering

I would talk to your dr or pharmacist to be sure it's safe. As far as I understand (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) it was only the name-brand Tylenol that was recalled, not store brand. My biggest concern about using regular tylenol is how it's absorbed. Some meds are only to be swallowed and not dissolved, crush, cut, etc.

Now, children's Tylenol is different. My dr had at one time given me the dosage for an infant using children's, not infant, tylenol.

Again, to be safe, I'd check with the pediatrician or pharmacist.
