Are there any baby socks that stay on? Anyone have a favorite brand/style? Or will I just need to put some kind of shoe or bootie on him as well that tightens around the ankles to keep his socks from falling off?

I agree with the PP about ankle socks, they have always stayed on well for me. I've also had good luck with the $1 bobby socks on the end caps at Target (in the baby section, obviously) especially the striped/patterned ones. My daughter lived in those her first winter (4ish months old) pulled all the way up to her knees with some super soft chenille slipper socks over top to keep her feet warm.

for the first four months we used "faded glory bobby socks" and had great success with them! I was only able to find them in the smallest size. when ds grew out of them and we couldn't find them in the next size, I got some random circo ones at Target. they fell off immediately! I did a little thread search here on mdc on old baby socks threads. I found that there were some recommendations for hanna anderson socks. they are more expensive but they have a great selection- I ordered a few to try out and am waiting for them to arrive.

My favorite socks are the Old Navy ankle socks. They're plain, low cut and nearly always stay on. It's pretty much all I use because they work so well.

I love Hanna Andersson socks.
They were the only socks we could get to stay on.
They are a little pricey, but just a few pair is all you need. Little babies can wear the same pair of socks several times before they need to be washed. These socks never stretched out, never fell off and were super soft and warm.
