How much are you sleeping?

Is it totally ridiculous that I've been passing out by 9 pm this week? I wake up about 8 am. And I'm dosing in the afternoon. I feel like my energy level is on this crazy rollercoaster. First thing this AM I felt so great then by noon I felt like napping again!

You know...its hard to definitively say for me.
I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow.

Im definitely getting more tired than I was during the second trimester...but I think it comes in waves for me. During the week (when Im at work) I get dead tired around 1 or 2 and could pass out at any moment. But it usually passes after an hour or two. Even though Im usually up around 6am those days, I rarely end up taking a nap, and am fine then until going to bed around 11 or so.

Weekends though? I think my body "knows" weekends are my rest time, and I usually end up taking at least one nap throughout the day. I sleep in later those days too...usually getting up around 9 or 10. (I was getting up an hour or two earlier my second trimester, just because.)

Now....you also have to factor in the lovely random "cant get comfy, cant fall asleep" insomnia im sometimes experiencing now, too. Oy.

Answer: Not enough!

These days I need at least 8 hours, or else I'm on the verge of passing out the rest of the day. Unfortunately, I'm a night owl who has to be at work 10am some days, so this usually doesn't work out too well.

About... 10-12 hours a day? 10 PM or midnight to 8-10 AM. Unless I need to drive DH to work early not much disturbs my sleep.

I've been falling asleep between 9 and 10. I tend to doze in and out from 3-6am, and then I'm up for the day. Sometimes I catch a quick nap when the kids have their lunch break, but it can be hard to do when there's so much noise! I still feel pretty shot through the rest of the day, whether I nap or not.

DDCC

I'm only 2 weeks behind the OP. The answer is definitely not enough! I'm going to sleep around 9:30 and 10 pm, waking multiple times in the night, and waking up for the day any time between 6 am and 7:30 am. I'd love to crash in the afternoon, but it's just simply not happening. Every time I even try, I get woken up. I'm a big cranky mess by the end of the week.

I'm so glad to see this! I was just telling DH that I feel like I'm in the 1st trimester again, I'm so tired! I have been doing well until the last week and I've been going to bed early *and* napping as much as I can. I have very little energy and just want to sleep!

I get around 7 hours. I have to be up at 5:45 am to nurse DD, get ready for work....then I get home from work around 5-5:30 pm, and I rarely get to bed before 11 pm.

I SHOULD be more tired than I am- we just moved DD to her crib (still in our room) a few weeks back, and she still wakes frequently and needs soothing, plus I'm getting up at least once to go to the bathroom. However, since the nesting bug bit, I seem to have a ton of energy- wayyyyy more than in my first and second trimesters. I'm getting more done on less rest than ever.

DD actually slept for 6 hours straight last night, which is pretty much a record for her. Too bad I woke up concerned she hadn't stirred, and had to get up and check on her!

If you're totally ridiculous, then I am too. I get up at 6 on weekdays and between 7-8 on weekends. I'm tired constantly. I get a random burst of energy and then I'm exhausted again. {{Sigh}}. If only I could find a way to nap at work!

< 7 hours easily

Hi Ladies,

This is a crazy month for me with work, we're having a HUGE science festival and ribbon cutting ceremony this weekend. Then some of our core team will be out until 11/4 to prep for their opening.

All last week, I set my alarm on my phone and it would tell me how many hours until the alarm went off. My readings ranged from 3 hrs and 45 mins to 6 hours. This week is no different.

I play catch up on Friday night but that won't be the case this week, so I took it 'easy' this weekend.

I can't even slow down after the festival on 10/16 because I have to start rolling out a 3 year grant from the National Science Foundation! Super exciting though.

It's what I am prepared to do, and with DD, I worked up until the last minute. I attribute keeping active to my quick labor/delivery. It was all over within 12 hours. I do look forward to going into 'shut down' mode once Julian arrives.

I find that keeping myself super hydrated makes a difference in my energy levels and since it keeps me peeing ALL the time I don't tired.

:-)

SAME! I am pretty restless during the night (I am 32 weeks as of Tuesday)- probably up about 5 times each night, up for work by 6:30am-6:45am; done/home from work by 5pm

On days that I work from home I MUST take a nap at lunch time because I am just too damn tired.

I can't WAIT for maternity leave!

too much
I get up at 730 get ds ready for school.
If I don't have any appointments I lay down at 10 :yawning then sleep/snooze until about 1.
then I get ds from school do homework. snooze again for an hour, sometimes longer.
I go to bed between 11 and 1.
there are days when I don't nap at all. and days that I can't function with out my nap.

I thought I was getting enough sleep, but then I fell asleep on the couch both yesterday and Saturday afternoon! Granted, we had been doing lots of chores (including painting our bedroom), but still! DH let me sleep for almost 2 hrs each day - what a guy

I'm usually asleep by 10:00 - sometimes 9:30 and I'm up at 7:00 during the week, 8:30 on the weekends. So I usually get a good 9 hours and sometimes it's really not enough. I tend to fall asleep quickly at night and then sleep like the dead until around 2 or 3 in the morning, then it's touch and go until my alarm goes off. I've been considering an afternoon nap lately, but I'm always afraid I'll sleep past the time to pick up DS1 from school, so I usually don't.

I've made a point to have my green smoothies and I get a nice energy jolt from those. At least then I can keep up with the kids in the afternoon. But it's sad that I'm passing out before their bedtime!

Not enough. I was while DH was gone, because I would be in bed by 10 and up at 6:45. But DH likes to stay up later, so we've been getting to bed around 11 or 11:30 and I still get up at 6:45 everyday.

I'm trying to convince him that we should move dinner to 6 pm and try to be in bed by 10. We'll see if I can make that work!

Not enough. I am struggling with midnight insomnia and an early rising son. And a son who is going through a sleep regression, requiring at least an hour to get him to sleep at night And he has gone back to wanting to breastfeed.....

I am finished!

And I have had it with picking stuff up off the floor! Whine, whine, whinge.
