Care.com?

does anyone have any experience with this site?

I do as a childcare provider. Honestly, I don't think I've ever gotten a job from the site. Once I did a phone interview with a guy, we arranged for me to go to his house the next day and do a trial babysitting of his kids, and then nobody was home (or they wouldn't open the door anyways) when I got there. I stopped paying the $10 a month for care.com a long time ago.

I get most of my jobs through word of mouth, craigslist, and local classifieds.

Yes, we've hired nannies twice in the last year with it. Love it. You can post a job and just screen the applicants. It worked out great for us. It direct debits your payment every month though, which is annoying.

I have gotten a job from this site and have had several offers based on my profile. I enjoy the website and if I need to look for another care position, I would use this site. I don't pay for care.com, have just a basic account. If you are looking for a babysitter/nanny, do you have to pay?

You don't have to pay to list a job or view provider profiles but you do have to pay to contact people.

We found our full-time sitter/nanny through it (and got 15+ offers for the job listing i posted) and love it. We would have never found her otherwise.

We found our previous caregiver through Care.com and I know friends who use it successfully, too. We found our current nanny through sittercity.com, though. I enjoy both sites!

I've had good luck with sittercity.com We've hired two good nannies there.

I checked out care.com but decided to go with sittercity.com instead because the site seemed easier to use. We are going through the search right now & have only been signed up with sittercity.com for a few days but I've talked to a couple of candidates, and there seem to be some real quality nannies & babysitters on the site... Hopefully we'll hire one soon! Though I will say that I found our last nanny (who we had over a year) through craigslist, so you never know...
