Okay, I need to make a change.
Ds is 1yo, and I've been using bum genius diapers at night. They have started leaking. I have been stuffing them with one pretty thick prefold and one of the microfiber inserts that came with the diapers. That's not enough, but if I put another liner in they leak without getting full.
I have some motherease diapers and covers, so I thought I'd try those; he completely soaked two in one night (no leaking; it just happened to be one of the nights we were up in the middle of the night).
I could add another liner to the motherease, but I like how the fleece-lined pocket diapers don't feel wet next to his skin...in the motherease he might be wet for hours.
On the other hand I am really on the fence about using synthtic materials for diapering, especially the layer closestto the baby.

and we've noticed that over the past couple of days she has been soaking through her diapers in less than two hours. I had some of the older style FB inserts (3 layer) sitting around in one of my diaper bags, so I put that underneath one of the new inserts (4 layer) and VOILA! No leaks! It was a bit bulkier, but it worked great. The other method we use is hemp doublers under one MF insert. The hemp doublers are super thin but very absorbent and are great at stopping leaks overnight. We only have three of them right now, which is why I had to improvise with the two inserts, but either way it works great!
