Experience with state maternity plans?

Does anyone know, if once you get on a state maternity plan you can stay on it once your income goes up? I would think this is the case with so many insurance companies either not having maternity coverage at all or having waiting periods for the maternity benefits to take effect (not very helpful if you're already pregnant!)

In NC yes, you do stay on it even if your income changes. 10 years ago we were trained to tell women, "You could win the lottery tomorrow and you are still covered through your pregnancy."

There isn't really a waiting period and it's retroactive if you've already done an appointment before your paperwork is processed etc.
