TTC/Breastfeeding 35 mo. old/short luteal phase

I am 35 years old and TTC while breastfeeding my 35 month old daughter. I have been charting for the last 4 months and it appears that I might have a short luteal phase. This last cycle, I am positive I conceived (had spotting and sore breasts 4 days after intercourse, and was peeing much more often), only to begin heavily bleeding (with a sharp temp drop) a couple days before I expected AF...an early miscarriage. I did take a HPT but it came back negative, so my guess is that HCG didn't get high enough. I am wondering if anyone out there has had similar experiences and what worked for you to conceive. Also wondering if I need to wean my daughter. She only nurses one time a day for about a minute or two. Can that impact my prolactin/progesterone levels that much? Any thoughts/experiences you can share are welcome!

I'm nursing my 39 month old. I conceived with my PPAF when DS was 18 months old. I miscarried. Since then I've noticed a consistent lp problem where I start spotting in my luteal phase. I've been working with a nurse practitioner and she has me on progesterone during my lp. In my specific case, I also had an underlying thyroid issue. So I'm getting that taken care of too. It may be that all you need is some progesterone to get you through. A lot of women do conceive while nursing. I think some of us are more affected by nursing and have a harder time with it.

Vitamin B6 and vitamin C both can increase your LP. Taking a herb like vitex may also help.

I'm nursing and having LP issues too. Had my progesterone tested this month and it was super low. Low enough that my midwife thinks maybe I didn't O. But I am convinced I did. Anyway, I think I am going to try progesterone this month. My OB and midwife both mentioned maybe needing clomid - if you make the ovulation stronger, the luteal phase should be stronger as well. I tried vitex and B6 and didn't get enough help from them, but they do the trick for many! BTW, I'm not convinced the LP issues for me are from nursing - they may be from the mirena iud I had taken out 6 months ago as well.
