Cosleeping for the nervous new mom

Due December 5th.

Right now we live in a one bedroom apartment and have a pack n play with bassinet up against our bed. I'm a big pillow and blankets kind of person (I even need a blanket in the summer) so I'm not really confident that I won't get the blanket in the baby's face. Maybe we can cosleep without the 'gear' when he gets a little bigger but right now I'm worried thinking about smothering him with my blankets. I was thinking of getting one of those baby nest thingies so he could be closer but still safe from the 'comforter monster' but I'm not sure which one.

My boys both slept in a bassinette until they were close to a year (well, and a cot) because I'm not comfortable sleeping with a newborn. They were both happy doing this until maybe about nine months old then they wanted to start sleeping with us. By that stage it's good because I don't need to worry about duvets and pillows so much.

FWIW they always slept in our room in their bassinette or cot. Now DS1 is 5yo and DS2 is 2yo and they both still sleep with us (which I'm happy with to be honest because I know they are safe and it makes dealing with them in the night a whole lot easier!)
