braxton hicks - driving me nuts

i'm just shy of 26 weeks right now and i'm having braxton hicks VERY regularly. this happened in my last pregnancy but i was way further along by the time it really bothered me. tonight at dinner, i was having BH on and off for an hour. it kind of felt like i was in labour! i know BH to an extent is normal, but what if it becomes a problem.. like, they're strong enough for it to be difficult for me to breathe fully and walk. which is just fine when there's only a few a day, but when you get more than a dozen every day.. it's getting to be too much.

is there anything i can do to make them settle?

Are you hydrated enough? Try getting a water bottle (mine is a 1 liter) and keep it by you. Sip on it every 5 minutes or so. Sometimes drinking out of habit instead of thirst is the best way to stay hydrated. Mine have picked up a little now that I'm 32 weeks but they aren't as bad as yours sound. Maybe its something to bring up with your doctor/midwife?

I get them frequently during my pgs, many times an hour. Position changes or movement are big triggers for me. Resting is really the only thing that slows them down.
