Freestanding birth centers, I presume? They are really no different than homebirths (the main difference being centers are often close to hospitals, but someone's home may be closer depending on where they live). HOWEVER, a lot of people assume that FSBCs are safer just because they're establishments made specifically FOR birth. Though I prefer to educate people and let them know that they are essentially the same as birth in regards to safety, equipment, etc., I have known many women who simply omitted that fact and let the assumption of it being safer due to it being a birthing establishment stand in order to get their way. KWIM? Pg brain, so sorry if that doesn't make much sense.
