Breastfeeding an older baby in a new Ben Stiller movie!!

I have 15-month-old twin dd's and am on a email list for a twin talent agency based in NYC. We often get casting calls sent to us and if we are interested and/or fit the profile for what they are looking for we send our pics or video in. I have received many really cool casting calls that we don't fit for some reason and I am BEYOND bummed that we don't fit this one!!

We just got a casting call this morning for a new Ben Stiller movie. They need 15-22 month old identical twin boys (darn...we're just missing the penises!!) to play a roll in the movie. The babies need to be able to say I love you, rub their tummies, etc. But...the biggest thing was that they wanted them to know how to nurse!!!! Apparently the baby in the movie will be a toddler who can talk AND nurse! Won't America be shocked?! LOL!!!!

If they are not filming full frontal nude shots, and if you don't mind their hair being cut, if necessary, why would a lack of penises keep you out.

Go for it!!!

That sounds like fun, I just hope that, it being a Stiller movie and the type of humor he does, it's going to be a positive portrayal of nursing and not a sarcastic mocking type of thing. Do you get to see the script for the scene, I wonder?

My best friend said the same thing. She wonders if they are making fun of bf'ing or making it a positive thing. If we were considered for the role I would make sure that it wasn't making fun of bf'ing before we took it. By the way...I did send their pics in and we've been asked to send in a video of them the the casting agent in LA!!! We found out it's for "Meet the Fockers" which is the sequel to "Meet the Parents".

My DH said the same thing. I really, really hope they don't make breastfed babies the butt of any jokes! If your little ones are cast, set 'em straight for us.

I plan on emailing the casting director today to ask him what part bf'ing takes in the role. The directions he sent me was that they wanted the babies to be mature enough to mimic simple things (like rubbing their tummies) yet small enough to still be bf'ing. I'll keep you all posted.

Well, who on earth are the babies going to bf off of? An actress? Your own disembodied boob? I don't get it.

BTW, the rumor is, Barbra Streisand is going to play Mrs Focker!

I sure hope they portray it well.

Didn't Ben and his wife just have a baby?

I don't think the babies need to actually nurse for the camera so that won't be an issue. Maybe the actress playing the mom will be holding them in a nursing position or something like that. From what I'm understanding, they are looking for a baby that is old enough to take direction (like rubbing their tummy when asked to) but yet young enough to be bf'ing. I'm not 100% sure how bf'ing plays into the part but I do know that in the very rare chance that we are picked I would make certain that they weren't making fun of older bf'ing babies. If they were I wouldn't take the role because they would be making fun of my children as well.

I really don't think they'll be making fun of the baby bf'ing as much as maybe putting bf'ing into a funny situation. BF'ing is so "PC" in "Hollywood" that I doubt they would show it in a negative way.

I'm sure many of us have seen Steel Magnolias. In the scene where Shelby's (Julia Roberts) son turns 1, they show him sitting on her lap while they sing to him. They never show Shelby's face because it's actually the babies real mother holding him. Who knows...maybe if they do need a real nursing scene my boob could become famous!
