Activities w a 6-mo-old in Ames IA?

Hi Ames IA mamas,
I am attending a business meeting in Ames next week and my mom is coming with me to care for my 6-month-old for 2 days. Any recommendations on what she could do with him during the day? Baby-friendly parks, cafes, gym classes... even a mall for walking if the weather is bad???

She may have better luck driving down to the Des Moines area (only 30 min. away) unless you need to keep her close for nursing and such.

Don't know what your dates are/were... North Grand mall is decent for walking. there are several nice parks. The Iowa Arboretum is fairly close (maybe 15 miles). Rieman Gardens at Iowa state is awesome.
