Newborn had antibitics

My newborn dd had a fever I took her to the doctor for and they hosptalized her for 2 days and gave her 48 hours of IV antibiotics. I had no idea they hospitalized nbs for fever. I don't like that she been exposed to heavy antibiotics when her system was so young and porous. Is there anything I can do?

Give her infant probiotics. Just put some of the contents of the capsule on your finger and let her suck it off. Do that everyday for a couple weeks. Thats what I would do anyway. Oh and nurse, nurse, nurse.

Where can I find probiotics for infants? I was wanting to do that I just don't know what forms they come in or how to give it at this age. I like the idea of her sucking it off the finger.

My DS was in the NICU for his first 3 days for (ultimately unneccessary) antibiotics. We didn't do probiotics or anything, just lots of nursing. He did just fine, no side effects.

You can buy them at a health food store. If you cant find that then acidophilus capules will do. You just break the capsule open and put the contents on your finger.

No infants don't need acidophilus, they need bifidobacteria. I would do 3x per day.
