Constipation in 15 mo old

Help!

My 15 month old is always constipated! I'm sure it ties in with teething to be honest, but he is teething sooo much its hard to know.

He drinks water throughout the day, not sure how much they are meant to drink but sometimes a full tall sippy cup will go down.

We dont drink cows milk, but sometimes he'll eat yogurt and cheese.

There is quite a bit of wheat in our diets, but he has none of the other symtoms of wheat alergy at all.

Tried prune juice, I think it worked a little at first, but then made no difference. Tried flaxseeds recently which I think helped, but now again its back to normal.

He wont go for 3-4ish days sometimes, and is constantly straining. Sometimes I think it comes out, then goes back inside when he cant get it all out. sorry TMI.!

anyone got any suggestions for anything else I can try?

thanks

Probiotics and pear juice. Fresh pears, peaches & plums help to. No bananas rice

My friend's toddler has severe constipation. He will go weeks without a BM. She has found magnesium supplementation to be helpful, although she hasn't found anything that has resolved this problem.

Dried cranberries and raisins always work for my kids.

My kid has been chronically constipated since he started solids at about six months old.  He even ended up in the hospital at eleven months because it got to the point where he could not go at all.  I've tried all the natural stuff, I mean the kid lives off of raisins and prunes (he loves them).  He drinks tons of water.  I've tried magnesium.  He nurses constantly etc.  This won't be popular here, but the only think I found works is a laxative (mirilax specifically).  I figure that at this young age pooping should not scar him for life.  I don't want him to associate it with pain and suffering, and I just hope to god that his body gets the memo at some point and I can wean him off of it.
