slow to gain baby?

help me mamas, to look at this with perspective

i hear ALL the time... like ALL the time.. that ydd is so small.
she is 15.8 lbs at 9 months old.. she has been in the 15lb range for about two months..
she was very slow to gain as a young babe... had a few weeks where she didnt gain enough.. and one week she didnt gain at all. the midwives were concerned enough to ask us to follow with her doc, for weigh ins.. and she did gain much quicker after temporarily weaned (mostly weaned) her older sister.
but still now she gains very slowly or not at all.
she has a lot of poopy diapers.
they are still mostly breastfed poops.. although she has had solids she has refused more often than she eats them.. and she really only likes carb-type foods.. pasta, breads and the like. i offer lots of choices all the time and generally dont stress, i know kids will self regulate if you keep offering the good stuff. but the comments and her slow weight has me worried.
i try to give her high fat foods when she does eat.. like avocado.

hmm a couple of other notes, she looks plump enough (not emaciated, has some chub on her legs) and is hitting milestones appropriately... ill try to load a pic for reference too!

I think you want to see her staying on her curve. I have naturally small boys and two of them were born prematurely. They were about 16-18 pounds at 1 year, 22 pounds at 2 years, 25 pounds at 3 years...basically off the charts little for weight all along! We've met lots of babies who weighed more at 9 months than our middle son does at 3 1/2!

My husband and I are thin and I am petite, so for the most part we don't worry about it. As far as we can tell, this is normal for our family. We try to feed our boys a wide variety of healthy foods and they love to eat.

I would worry more if her growth pattern changed, i.e. she went from the 50th percentile to the 5th, than if she just cruised along the bottom of the chart. Not every kid is going to be big!

So would you worry at all if babe has not gained at all in two months? Maybe I didn't explain myself well, its not that she has been slowly moving through the 15 pound range, she has been at the same point give or take an ounce (likely due to scale issues) since August.

Has she recently become mobile?

Or gotten taller/longer?

Both of mine would seem to stall out during growth spurts or just after learning to crawl or walk. They didnt actually stop growing, just their weight gain stalled while they gained inches or muscle.
