vax and travel to mexico

so we're fully vaxed through 9 months. I had planned to put off the others for a while until I could figure out when I wanted him to have the rest, if ever. But, my sister just got engaged and will be getting married in Los Barriles, Mexico in April. What do I do??? We have an appointment with the travel nurse at our peds office and I plan to get the info at that time but not necessarily the vax. I'm prepared for her to throw a fit.
Any help or ideas are very appreciated!

Do you know where you will be staying? As in, resort that caters to Western tourists, small hotel, with family, etc. If you are going to be somewhere that you can control your own food OR you know the food is prepared to Western standards, I wouldn't worry about getting any extra vaccinations because the likelihood of you being exposed to a food/water-borne illness is small and those are the ones that are most concerning when traveling to Central or South America. On the other hand, if you are planning on eating street food, staying with relatives who don't have a lot of money, or relying on non-fine-dining restaurants for all of your meals, I would be more worried about Hep A and Typhoid. I live in Peru and when we moved here from the US, I went from not vaccinating at all to getting the Hep A and Typhoid done.

As far as dealing with the nurse, you can just lie and say your kid had a fever the day before and you'd like to re-schedule for another time (and then not re-schedule if that's your choice, or at least have time to go home and think about it).

I never considered vaccinating for our trip to Mexico with 3 small children (Puerta Vallerta - resort), but that's me. What diseases are you afraid of?

Just don't drink the water...oh, and plan ahead so you can get passports in time.

I would have said what Drummer's WIfe said. GoodLuck! I hope you know that the travel nurse is going to say "get up to date on EVERYTHING" so be prepared for that!

yea, I'm fully prepared for her to throw a fit. I would be most worried about Hep A I think, but I've never researched it before and we just found out we're going so I haven't even had time. It's a western resort and the website says the tap water at the hotel is drinkable, even though I think, if nothing else, DS will get bottled. My sisters in-laws-to-be spend the winter in this town so I'll probably ask them what the town is like. We plan to be there for a couple weeks.
