My DD has a rash. Or a LOT of bug bites. And after about 9 days of this bug-bite sitch, she had one day with a pretty high fever and nausea. 1 day later, she's back to her sunny self, but still with the rash. It's now been 14 days since the first "bites" (or whatever they are) appeared.
None of the rest of us have more than a few typically seasonal bug bites. I did a flea wash, checked like crazy for bed bugs (not very common in Oregon, even in this new bed bug epidemic), and finally have wondered if it could be a really atypical Chicken Pox?
The rash still looks (and itches) like bug bites, not scabby or in unusual locations like Pox. However, a COUPLE of the newer bumps have blisters or scabs. So...??? Is it? Is it not? HIGHLY MYSTERIOUS!!
I'm taking her to our MD for a look-see (in the parking lot of the clinic!!) this afternoon, but I am pretty sure it will remain a head-scratcher, as she really doesn't look poxy, but DOES look rashy.
Has anybody seen CP look like this one? And now that it's already been 14 days, if they think it IS Pox, do I have to quarantine her after the fact?
