What do you do w/yr wedding ring?

So when I was pregnant w/DS DH was DP, but now he's DH and I have a ring. It feels ok on my finger and spins around fine, I can move it up to under my knuckle etc. but it's getting really hard to get off (esp. later in the day). On one of those pregnancy newsletters they mentioned checking it.

I've only gained 10 lbs (23 weeks) so I'm pretty much thinking it's just some swelling, I haven't noticed it any more swelling.

Do you think I can keep my ring on or should I put it on a chain or something? I guess I don't know why I would need to get it off, c-sections or something? We're planning our 2nd HB.

I always need to take off my rings some time mid pregnancy. They don't fit me again until a couple months postpartum actually. I would recommend taking them off if they're getting tight. You're just going to get bigger. And last time when I delivered, I got huge! I was so swollen, I probably would have needed to get them cut off. It's not worth it to me to have to deal with tight rings and the possibility of getting them cut off. I don't put them on a chain or anything, I just put them in a drawer at home.

with my first pregnancy I had adema so bad that I had to go to the fire dept and have my wedding ring cut off my finger. Then I had to pay a jeweler to repair the damaged ring. Might be worth wearing on a chain if you experience any more swelling. More water and less sodium usually helps with swelling.

I have to stop wearing mine toward the end. However, I do wear my great-grandmother's wedding band which is a bit bigger than mine if I'm going out somewhere and just want to have a ring on my finger. I ended up having to get my wedding band sized up a 1/4-1/2 size after DD was born...it had been several months, and it still didn't fit and I missed wearing my rings.

My wedding ring used to be too big so I never had a problem with it getting too tight with my other pregnancies, in fact it always got looser and I almost lost it a few times. But after my last baby I finally got it resized correctly and so it's been getting a little tight some days when I'm a little more swollen. Not so bad that I'm worried, so I hope I'll be able to wear it the whole time, but I may take it off and wear it on a necklace after the babies are born if I have a c/s since I've swollen more after those.

I never wear my ring anymore . It has a raised setting and after the 4th time it cut DD1 when she was a baby I took it off. I only wear it now when DH is away at training, not that it stops some guys .

I never had trouble taking it off and on. When I wore it regularly I took it off every morning to shower and do my hair otherwise it would get caught in my hair. I don't swell that much during pregnancy though so that might be why.

I usually have to take off my diamond at the end, but can keep my wedding band on. We weren't married with the first two, so I love being able to wear it with the rest. I get less dirty looks! And with #6 on the way I get plenty of dirty looks!

Last time it was just my engagement ring and I wore it on a necklace once I couldn't get it off anymore.

I'll likely do the same this time, but will likely take longer since it's winter and my hands are all shriveled up in the cold. :

Phew - I'm not the only one then. I think I'll take it off, it's just the band but I got it sized correctly (was too big) and don't want it to get too tight. Maybe I'll see if I have another ring I can wear that's a bit bigger - I know I should wear something at family Thanksgiving

Haven't worn my wedding ring in 7 years. My fingers never went back to their pre-baby size. Maybe after this one I'll lose that "baby weight" and be able to get it back on. That will be a joyous occasion!

Has anyone else's ring become too BIG during pregnancy? I've gained about 17 pounds and I'm 24 weeks- so it isn't because I've suddenly become a skinny mini. About a month ago it started getting loose, and normally I have to work it over my knuckle. Now it falls off if I talk with my hands (which is quite frequently). I put it in my jewelry box for safe keeping.

Ive never had an issue with my fingers swelling... yet. I would suggest wearing it on a necklace.

Yeah I don't know why my fingers are bigger, it's not really noticeable swelling or anything and I've gained 10 lbs and I'm 24 weeks now. I guess all the weight went to my boobs, belly and fingers

I can wear mine some days. I no longer wear it bed, and most mornings I can tell if it's going to be a "good" day in terms of finger swelling when I try and put it on. I had to take it off mid-way last time and I expect that I will not be able to wear it for much longer. I miss having my ring.
