Induction scheduled for Thursday PM

I'm crossposting from BSL Grads and Q&P thread, I know... I'm lazy and I suck.

CJ and I are doing wonderfully according to NST and BPP, but I'm going to begin induction Thursday night (Cervidil first). I have so much amniotic fluid that she's still just floating around in there happy as a clam, and apparently putting no pressure on my cervix. Tight as a drum. And, I know that they can be WAY off with these things, but there's concern about her size. I could have waited till Sunday to get things started, but in all honesty, because DP only gets 5 days off of work, I really would like to wrap up our hospital stay this weekend and have her home to bond with the baby and be with me next week. I guess "making it" till 41+4 or 5 is still pretty much toughing it out till the bitter end (the midwife practice I'm with only "lets" you go till 42... which I knew going in).

SOOOOO.... unless something crazy happens and I go into labor on my own, we move on to this plan B, which will likely involve Pitocin (DAMMIT!) but I'm really trying to be positive and embrace it.

Any good vibes you can muster Thursday and Friday are so very appreciated. Hey, at least I know we're definitely having a baby before next week. I just can't wait to meet her at this point. Of course, I still hope for a very positive experience.

We're not announcing the induction to the world (only family and close friends), because we're already tired of all the questions and "pressure;" we don't want any more. We'll let people know when she's actually here. They don't need a play-by-play

xo to all! Hope everyone is well.

I completely understand!! Good luck! The birthing center here is the same way. They won't deliver past 42 weeks either. In fact, neither will our hospital here. You've come a long way. You're almost done sweetie. Rest and enjoy these last few hours. And you're right. Not everyone needs a play-by-play. That's exhausting!

So what happens if a woman walks into the hospital in labor past 42 weeks? I highly doubt they'd be able to refuse her service.

Just focus on the positive, your going to have your baby soon and most inductions go good. You might want to ask you midwife if you labor gets going with the cyrvidil and pitocin if you can shut off the pitocin and see if it will continue to progress normally.

Also once your water is broken it might progress quite normally and you could turn off the pitocin.

Good luck, Lyndzies! I was induced last Friday, and while my birthing plan certainly flew out the window, my day ended with a vaginally birthed healthy baby girl. That is all one could ask for. I know you guys are super excited, and I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. All the luck in the world to you and your partner!!!

Wow!! Good luck and I hope that all goes very well.

Who knows, maybe you'll go into labour tonight...

btw: you seem at ease with the plan (which is great) and I'm not trying to give unsolicited advice, but in my case castor oil worked really well when induction was on my horizon. I took two tbsp's an hour apart, followed by a chaser of orange juice. No nausea, but I was definitely "cleansed" by the time I went into labour. On the other hand, I possible would have gone into labour anyway at 41 +2...
