My dd's body odor

I'm concerned for my 8 yo. DD's body odor. She takes bath/shower every night before bed and use deodorant every day. Then by mid-afternoon, she smells bad, more noticeably since school started. I thought about suggesting her to use baby powder after taking shower/bath but I don't know if she'll like the idea and its really messy to use.

Any ideas?

Has she tried different brands? It took me years to find a deo. that would last all day.

Its not just her arm pit.. its her whole body. Sorry for not being clear.

What kind of smell, and why do you think it's her whole body? Just curious, my kid's not there yet but just wanted to prepare myself for the next stage...

Has she seen a doctor? Some medical conditions can cause odors like you describe. I'd get it checked out.

I agree about seeing a doctor. If it were just her pits, I'd say to put deodorant on after bathign at night and in the morning.. supposedly that works better although I can't recall why anymore.

Sometimes, when she takes her shoes off, her feet smells bad even if she had used clean pair of socks with her brand new shoes. Also, she has this sweaty and some other indescribable smell that I’m afraid other kids would tease her at school. When I was a child growing up, I saw how horrible some kids were to a boy who had serious body odor. I definitely don’t want this happening to her.

To add: No she hasn't been to doctor regarding her body odor but that's a good idea.

I used to have awful, room-clearing foot odor. When I happened to eliminate dairy for other reasons, it went away !!! So I believe a body odor can be related to a food substance a person does not process well.

I would try giving her chlorophyll. It worked for us! We bought the one that has peppermint in it and just went by the recommended dosage on the bottle (you mix it with water and seriously, I love the taste). All of my children ask for their "green water"

I'm sure there's lots of info online about it helping with body odor.

Thanks for all of the feedback, but first, I'll take my dd to doctor to get the health issue out of the way then focus on natural approach if nothing is related to health problem.

You might also try changing her body wash...sometimes you adapt to those like you do deodorant (I have to switch each time I buy a new one of either)
