Atomic Poopies

I dunno what kind of physical development my ds just went through - he's still ebf - but he's got atomic poopies now! His diapers are all of a sudden stained a horribly vivid orangy color. Alas! And I already sent the suckers through the drier because I didn't see the stains - and I always put something in the wash for the stains. It just looks so nasty, as if they didn't really come clean which isn't possible because the machine was only half full at the most and it was plenty sudsy - visible from my front loading machine. *sigh*
I never had this happen with dd. Anyone else have a baby suddenly producing atomic poopies? Why do they do this???? Any chances of getting this crap out of my diapers so they look nice again?

Sun it! The sun is the best ever for getting stains out of diapers. Just put it out stain side up while it's wet, and generally by the time it's dry the stain will be faded too.

As to why-- I can't help you there, except to say that it happened from time to time with my EBF baby too. If I had to guess, I would chalk it up to either changes in your diet or a very mild stomach bug.

My ds 2 ALWAYS had poops like this, very orange and thick. It was very rare for him to have the runny mustardy yellow newborn poops. But then it was also very rare for him to poop everyday. I think when it was getting saved up that's just the way it was. It may depend on your milk and how much it might stain anyway, but all of my dipes ended up coming mostly clean again. I didn't really worry about it much, just kept using them and after repeated washings they got a little better. Otherwise as the pp said, go ahead and try sunning them.
