Organizing the food stockpile

I have it all stored neatly and organized visually, but my issue is with remembering what is there and using it effectively.

How do you keep track of your stockpile? Spreadsheet? Some other method? I need to get more organized about using what is in my pantry in my weekly meal plans.

For my deep freeze I keep a white board next to it, divided into sections just like the freezer. I add/subract stuff as I go.

The dry goods though are just on shelves according to type and I just keep a running total in my head. Sometimes I miss something or forget but not too often.

For dry goods, I have my garage shelves labled so I can tell what's low.

I am relatively new to food storage, so I will be watching this thread with interest!
