I have been keeping a list of names I like for over a year, lol. Our only tradition thus far has been to give both of our son's a middle name of a family member. For my second son, his middle name is his Great-Grandfather's middle name who passed away a little bit before he was born.

Ds1 has my father's first name for his middle name.

Buddhamom, I absolutely LOVE the name Echo. Mind if I put it on my list?? LOL!

I would like to name a boy after my grandfather, he was James Patrick. I'm not sure if we would just use one of those names or what. I have no idea for a girl. My dd was not named until she was 2 days old and we knew we were having a girl. It was pretty much between Brianna and Alyiah but we couldn't decide. She ended up looking like a Brianna to me and a friend of mine has named her dd Alyiah since then so that's out now too. I have a hard time because I don't like to use the same name as other kids that I know so it rules out a lot of names I like.

We talked names last night, i had a list of 5 boy names and 4 girl names. He shot down all the boy names and we actually agreed on a girl name that he shocked me in saying he liked the sound of it

Now the long wait to find out the gender and hope it's a girl

Boy: Jackson Patrick....maybe Jackson David...or Jackson Daniel...not sure on a middle name

Girl: hubby and I like Braelynn (BRAY-lin)...I like the two middle name theme for my girls (Tristyn Jane Noelle for my 8mo)...I was thinking Braelynn Rose, but I'm not sure of a second middle name...

Yes, but Dh and I never tell family or friends our names, so I get to test them out here!!! We have a single syllable, simple last name starting with H. And as you can see, we need serious help narrowing down our girl choices, and even more help adding to our boy list!

Girl:
Lola
Eden
Carys
Jocelyn
Ayla
Ingrid
Scarlett
India
Everly
Viola
Violet

Boy:
Ian
Julian (DH will veto this one for sure but I love it.)
Roman
Gordon (DH veto)

The names that I love right now are Opal for a girl (reject from baby #5 ) and Arlo for a boy. My bf is not a fan of my boy choice, but we've got till about Jan before we even know the sex so we'll see. All my kids have family names for middles.

Well if it's a boy it will be named after my dh- no option there...lol! But his nickname would be TJ...

For a girl~ we aren't too sure on a girls name just yet- tossing around some ideas... Grace will be the middle name... perhaps Scarlett Grace? I dunno yet.

Lord help us. Our son got his name because it was the only thing we could agree on. And our angel baby was named one of two girl names that we liked. I really really like the idea of having a small list of names that we've agreed on and waiting until the baby comes to make the final decision. DH isn't keen on this idea - he wants it all planned out! I'm just trying to lay off and not say much about names right now. Perhaps he'll be more open to my ideas that way!

I have a Leo!! (Short for Leonard...he's the fourth one!) We love it!

We already have our girl name picked out...I think!!

I have a Byron Nicklaus and a William Carl. I like Jacob, Peter, Lucas and Robert for boys.
Girls is a bit tougher, DH like Courtney (I vetoed it) and Abbie (I vetoed it) I like Rosalynn and Gabrielle for girl names which he isn't fussy about.

I love Rosalynn! We've had our names picked out forever! Boy: Garland (family name) girl: River Ann ( because we love it and Ann is my grandmothers name)

Well, DH and I actually discussed this today. For a boy we're leaning towards Grover Felix and for a girl we're leaning towards Mina Adelle. Although, I still like the idea of having a few names ready and waiting to see what seems to fit after baby arrives. But I guess we do have a little bit of time to think about this!

My husband is a huge Star Wars nerd (for our first Christmas I got him a lightsaber and he got me an engagement ring) and I told him about Llewella Saber and he's now seriously considering it Don't worry, we're not stealing it, I just think it was the first time he actually got excited about baby names
I am pretty lucky, DH defers to me for most of this stuff, though if he outright hates something he will tell me.

We must have similar tastes!! My eldest daughter's name is Carys (we absolutely love it, by the way) and Scarlett and Violet were on our very short list for DD2. She ended up being Lucy Annabel.

Maybe you are where I first heard Carys! I know it was somewhere here on Mothering, and I thought it was such a beautiful, cool name and it stuck with me. In my mind, it rhymes with Paris...is that how you pronounce your DD's? DH loves it, too.

Girls names are SO easy, which makes it hard because we have so many we love. Boys on the other hand...UGH!
