I agree that fats are very important and I don't think a lot of people realize that (I know I used to think fats were evil). I think a healthy milkshake can be a good choice if you can't keep much down. I was just looking over my food diary for this pregnancy (I have had a healthy amount of weight gain -- 40 pounds -- and started out almost underweight/borderline low weight for my height). I was eating 2-4 eggs, butter, potatoes, nuts, an "organic" soda (still extremely high in sugar) and whole milk yogurt every single day for the first trimester. That is what I could keep down... now, thinking back on that, I still tend to crave high fat dairy and butter ... and have some everyday (trying to cut back on sugar, though, even though that is a craving at times, too!)
