DD will not nurse from my left side. What's going on??

She's 17 months old. She has always preferred the right side and that breast has always produced a little more (my right one is a full cup size bigger than the left due to this.) Lately, she has been downright refusing my left breast. She shakes her head no and will fuss and cry. I can hand-express milk out of it, so that's not the problem. I am thinking that she has to work a little harder to get the milk she wants out of the left side, and she doesn't like that lol I don't know. I am just afraid my left one will dry up or something. I am drinking fenugreek tea to try and up the supply a little. Should I be pumping?? I'm not a huge fan of pumping, but I'll do it if I have to. She nurses VERY frequently (day and night), so I know she is nowhere near wanting to wean. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you handle it? TIA!

My older son did the same thing. He nusered on my right side only. He started about 1 yr till he weaned 3 1/2yrs. It was hard when I was preg with #2. I really wanted I break(on that side), BUT for me it was more important for him to get my milk.

He did stop on the left altogether.....never pumped just let it go.

Thank you for your reply. She will nurse from the left if I insist, telling her that there is milky in there and hand-expressing some to show her. I hope this passes bc sometimes I do need a break from the right side, esp since she nurses from that side most of the night.
