TTC after BCP

My son is three. Ever since I had him, I was on BCP (3 yrs obviously) and for the beginning year, it was a battle trying to find a pill that did not make me bleed EVERY DAY of the month, finally my dr and I found one that worked for me. Unfortunately it was one of the highest doses of hormones you will find in a BCP on the market. It worked great for the next year, then fast forward to Feb of this year, my periods just, stopped. I didn't have another one until June, which I was fine with. then another in mid August. In July my SO and I decided to stop the pills, we used VCF for about two weeks, until we talked about it and decided that if it was going to happen, let it happen. So then started our "not trying but not preventing at all" which translates in my mind to TTC, because if we aren't trying NOT to get pregnant, its going to happen and we are fine with that. And therein lies my question, how long is it going to take to get these dang hormones out of my body? my periods have been like this lately

Late Feb
June 20-23
August 15-18
Sept 24-28

And that is all the periods I have had this entire year. With every day that has passed since July 15th (my b-day and the day we decided to go off bcp) I want that BFP more and more, and keep getting myself excited, only to be disappointed. Before I had my first pregnancy (miscarriage) I had normal 30 day cycles, then lost the baby and on the third cycle after the miscarriage I got pregnant with my son.

I think its supposed to take a few months for your cycles to get back to normal. Your cycles don't seem that abnormal since you stopped BCP...

I had the same problem as you where the Pill made me bleed all. the. time. and my doctors kept switching me pills but nothing ever changed. Finally I decided that I didn't want to take the pills anymore. It has been almost 4 years since I stopped and I've been charting my cycles for 3 of those years, and I have yet to have a normal length of luteal phase or a period that was less than a week long. I don't know if these problems are due to the Pill or not, but I honestly wish I had never taken then Pill, I am convinced it did bad things to me.

amber7088- I had strange periods that past year on BCP too, not bleeding constantly, but 2-3 periods a month. like, seriously AF, my toiletry budget can't handle that! plus it's plain annoying. I went off BCP the end of July mid-pack, didn't have AF for 6 weeks, started AF September 1st, again September 21st, but am a few days late now according to a 21 day cycle. BFN's tho, so maybe my body is trying to go back to a 28 day cycle, idk. So frustrating tho not knowing what our bodies are doing, i'm right there with you. & i know people are trying to be helpful when they tell us "it may take awhile for your body to be regular again" but it's not much consolation- i still want a baby and don't have one, regardless of length of time TTC.
