I am trying to do my research now and get a list of MWs to interview before I get my BFP. I live in the Frisco/Lewisville area (Denton county) and would really like a MW that will do prenatal apts in my home, home birth, and basically sit on the couch and not touch me while I am in labor. I don't want VEs or AROM or anything of the sort. I basically just want her there as back up if my insticts tell me somethings wrong. Does anyone have any expeirence with a midwife in DFW that is like that?

Of course I'm a little biased.
Her name is Dinah Waranch and her web site is http://www.dallasmidwife.com. She's very crunchy and hands off unless she needs to intervene (much more crunchy than you typically find with CNMs). I was so stuck in lala labor land that I don't recall it, but my family said that she spent a lot of time in the other room and just came in occasionally to check on things. I had a wonderful pregnancy and birth last time and am using her again for this one. She does homebirths as well as births in her center. I'm not sure if she does home visits for prenatals so you would have to ask her about that.Donna Miller is a homebirth midwife in the DFW area. She was the midwife that caught me when I was born!
My mother used her for four of her five pregnancies (the first was in another state) and was very happy with her. Here is her info. It says on there that she's religious, but my mother (who is agnostic) said that it was never a problem...just a heads up in case you're not particularly fond of the "religious types." I got in touch with her a couple years back and she remembers ALL of our births, details and all, and the most recent one (my sister's) was nearly 20 years prior at the time!
I have also heard nothing but wonderful things about Cori Lively. Her web site is http://www.barefootmidwifery.com/.
I think you would have more luck if you go into the Texas section under "Finding Your Tribe" and post in there. There are plenty of awesome midwives in the area to choose from and you'll get plenty of recommendations there.

Oh, and my midwife, Dinah, the only time she intervened at all was
1) when I first got to the center she didn't want me to get in the tub (because it can slow down labour early on, though little did anyone know I was WAY past that point) so she suggested I get in the shower instead...sometime after that I did get in the tub and everything was fine.
2) while I was in the tub I started pushing on hands and knees and she wanted me to get in a different position because the water wasn't deep enough and she was concerned about his head not staying submerged under water before the rest of his body came out (fortunately this time her new tub is much deeper so that won't be an issue!).
Pretty reasonable things, IMO. And she offered me a homeopathic remedy early on when I couldn't stop vomiting. Other than that, she was very, very hands off unless I requested something.
And I can't speak for Donna from experience (obviously since I was the baby being born then
) but my mother commented on how hands off my midwife was and how much she liked that in comparison to the midwives my sister had when my niece was born (I was there and they were pretty hands on from what I recall) so I assume Donna was very much the same.

The midwives I used in the DFW area were from Family Birth Services in Grand Prairie, so that's a bit of a treck for you. However, what I loved about them was how seamlessly they work as a team. Because the waiting list to apprentice there is so long, they have really high quality people there, and they were phenomenal. We had a shoulder dystocia with one of my children, and the way they worked together to resolve it was better than I could have hoped for. My primary was Lisa Thomas, and I found her to be extremely professional and competent, and to not be panicky even in scary situations.
You have a lot of choices in DFW. Best of luck for your future birth!

I agree with all you said. I trust her so much to handle emergency situations, I hemorhaged ALOT and she was amazing. I had no idea how bad the situation was until 2 years later when we spoke about the history - she was just so calm and reassuring.
