How much do your 5 month olds sleep?

How long does your LO sleep at night? How many naps do they have? How long are they?

Trying to figure out what is going on with my babe... it is getting harder and harder to get her to sleep, and her sleep is more fitful. I'm wondering if she is overtired or teething or under the weather or overstimulated or just plain fussy.

My five month old is a couple of weeks older than your babe, and he goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:30 and sleeps until 5:30 or 6:30, although today it was 7:30 . But usually he sleeps 11 hours at night (waking up several times just to eat, although last night he slept from 11 to 5:30...it was amazing and I hope it becomes more common!).

During the morning, he usually takes two 45 minute or so naps, although he is now starting to make one of those a bit longer. He then sleeps for 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon, which I love. I have to nurse him back down several times during the long nap though to keep him asleep.

So I guess he gets about 15 hours most days, although he is teething and that does cause problems some days. I've read that 14-16 hours is the average for 5 months. Hope that helps some!

My DD sleeps 10-7 wwaking twice to nurse, then 2 20 min naps in the a.m. and an hour or so in the evening. Not a big sleeper any more!

Same here, except 3 times a night to nurse.
I dont mind because this baby is almost always happy these days.
She's like a smiley doll who poops!

At that age Cecilia was sleeping around 7-8 hours a night and a total of 4-5 hours a day split over 3 naps.

mine is pretty similar to what was mentioned already. Settles down "for the night" around 9, nurses and gets changed around 12 when i go to sleep, then might wake up just to nurse at some point, then up around 7 am.
First morning nap around 9;30 or so, then a snooze in the sling or stroller when I pick up my daughter from school, and her nice nap is around 1:30 for up to 2 hours or so, but needs to nurse at least once during. Will snooze again around 5:30. So I guess around... 13 hours total? Give or take.

DS sleeps from 7pm until about 6.30-7 (waking twice or so) and then naps twice for about 2 hours each time. 17 hours? Less if I mess him up and go to a playgroup - then he misses his morning nap.

He has about 4-5 naps. Lasting all under 1 hour.

He sleeps all night really. He may wake once or twice but nothing that requires getting up. We co-sleep and he is at the boob all night long pretty much. But - I get all that sleep too so its great! lol

DS1 at this age had about 2 naps - lasting many hours and slept 12 hours - by this point, not even waking for a feed! lol

at 5 months he was waking every hour to nurse, and taking a few 20-45 minute cat-naps during the day. don't remember total amount of hours
