how does your dd feel about becoming a big sister?
She seems happy about it, though she keeps saying she wants a little brother. Hope she's ok with a possible little sister! But, really, she doesn't seem to get it too much, but she has told me, "mommy, Brooke share toys with new little brother."

how is this pregnancy different than your last?
The morning sickness. I had NONE with DD, but it hit me full-force this time. I did not like that at all. I'm only 10 weeks, so that's the only difference so far.

how did you find mdc?
I'm friends with people on another board who are also on MDC. I came here after DD's birth looking for breastfeeding help and other low-supply mamas.

what do you know about your own birth?
I know that my mom's water broke at home, and I made my first squeaks 6 hours later. I came out navy blue due to a double nuchal around my neck. Funny enough, DD also had a double nuchal.

i know you're planning on a vbac, any fears/anxieties?
My biggest fear is the VBAC failing. With DD, I labored for 39 hours, and pushed for 3 only to have an urgent c-section due to failure to descend. DD was wrapped up in her cord but close to the placenta. Something totally and completely out of my and the OB's control. So, I'm afraid that I'll end up laboring for a long time and whatnot only to need another c-section. To be honest, I'm not 100% committed to a VBAC due the possibility of failure, just because a failed VBAC could be catastrophic. A repeat c-section isn't ideal, but it sounds much better than a uterine rupture and dead baby, kwim?

what's been the best and worst thing about this pregnancy so far?
Worst: morning sickness/nausea
Best: Just being pregnant period!

Ooooo, that's a tie between gingersnaps and snickerdoodles

have you ever won a prize in a contest?
I've won a door prize before, does that count?! I went to a crop night at a scrapbooking store, and I ended up winning a prize. I forgot what the prize was, but I was so happy to have finally won something!!

what are you wearing on your feet right now?
NOTHING! I should be wearing socks, but I'm a rebel.

who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
DH

My grandmother... she's probably the ONLY person I write letters to since everyone else has email!

i know EXACTLY what you mean. my first was similar (labored for a very long time only to end with an emergency c-section). and am feeling the same as you.

How long did it take to agree on DD's name?
Awhile, because I didn't initially like the name Brooke. DH loved it, and he just wouldn't drop it. So, he said I could choose the name for the 2nd baby if we could name her Brooke. I picked her middle name, Ansley. The name Brooke totally fits her.

Any potential names for this LO yet?
Our top boy names are Miles and Sean, with Miles in the lead.

Our top girl names are Lindsey and Bridget, with Lindsey in the lead.

I'm still trying to come up with middle names, so it's possible that we could find other possibilities!

What is your favorite vacation spot you've been to?
Victoria, British Columbia. It is SUCH a beautiful place, and so laid back. I would go again in a heartbeat!

What is your dream vacation?
A month exploring Italy. Man, that would be AWESOME!!

No pets, but we are thinking about getting a Maine Coon. I would love to get a dog, but DH doesn't want to get one for a couple years.

if you had an entire day with no husband and no children to tend to (they were out at the park or something) what would you do with your day?
Sleep in, then head to favorite little cafe for their delicious breakfast. Then I'd take a good book and get myself a nice pedicure, and then head home to do all kinds of home projects while everyone's out of my hair! Then I'd have a girls night with my bestest girlfriends, sushi, and a chick flick!

yoga pants! Though they are also my fav thing to wear when not pregnant, too.

11:30. I am a night-owl.

I just bought regular gas a couple days ago for $2.75/gal.

No, but DH really wants a snuggie!!

Going to go visit friends in PA! We're going to go to a corn maze, flea market, and then play rock band after the kids are in bed.

how many addresses have you had?
Over my entire life, I've had 15, with 10 of those being after age 18! But, I had a different address every year I was in college (2 years in dorm, 2 years in off-campus apt). Then I moved to MD after accepting a job, and I moved the year after that to a smaller apt to save some money. Then I moved to PA for love and marriage. After we moved to VA (for better schools, and to be closer to family), we had 2 separate addresses while waiting to buy (and then close on) a house. so happy to finally have put down permanent roots!
