Leaking fluid.

For the past 2 days I have gotten little gushes of watery clear fluid whenever I change positions, (sit, stand, stairs, squat, etc.) Its not a huge amount, but enough that I have to wear a liner. I have never had anything like this before in previous pregnancies and my water stayed intact until I was pushing each time.
I just confirmed with a swab at my mw apt. that it is indeed amniotic fluid..... can I expect labor soon? Or could this still go on for a while...?

if this has been happening for 2 days without labor... I would personally be trying to get into labor with old wives tales.

How far along are you? You're midwife didn't tell you what to expect?

I leaked fluid and bits of plug for a month before my water burst fully and DS was born 3 hours later. Your body continues to make fluid and it is common to have a small leak.

This happened to me with my first pregnancy. Started as just a little bit but gradually increased over about 3 days (gradually soaked a pad every hour or two) until my midwife suggested that we go for an induction. I think I would have been fine for a few more days (still had plenty of fluid). It sounds like your midwife is supportive of waiting but be prepared if the rate of leaking picks up. Good luck!
