TIP for those of you getting Hair Testing

Hi all

I had my hair tested twice. Both times were high in certain metals and elements. Then I thought to get my shower/bath water tested only as my drinking water is purified via RO.

Well, the same metals and elements high in my hair test were high in the water. It's reasonable to conclude that the water that I have been showering in has been depositing these things on my scalp. I might retest using...um...different hair.

Anyway, its worth mentioning that before you make medical decisions based on what you think is IN your body based on your hair results, test whats going ON it from the outside as well. It may be a matter of a filter to rectify the situation.

well, if it's external sources then I'd guess your public hair gets as much water as the hair on your head.

Also this is a very good reason to have minerals tested at the same time to see displacement. Your minerals won't be altered by the water in which you shower (unless you are drinking said water as well.) That, along with the hair test will tell you what's happening....not the hair test alone. You need to see how you're excreting minerals via hair follicles.

I would also assert that if you're cooking, cleaning, bathing etc in that water it's reasonable to conclude that what's IN your water makes it's way IN to you.

Yeah, I had my minerals tested too. And again, what was high on the hair test was high in the water. Why wouldn't it affect the minerals of my scalp hair, if via the water, I am getting a daily deposit of calcium, magnesium, copper, among others? As to be expected, the hardness of the water was off the charts as well. blegh.

I'm certainly not saying it wouldn't. The question is what did your minerals show? If your minerals are on track and the status is a-ok then I would do nothing with your results. If the metals that were high corresponded with minerals that were off then I'd take action. Mild action, mind you. I'm pretty low on the intervention scale. I guess the more relevant point is that if your minerals were fine then you're likely fine.

My minerals are up and down on the scale, but I pass the counting rules fine. Is that what you mean?
